Washington skiing/hiking (1 1/2 hours). Yet in the middle of Nanaimo close to downtown with its beautiful waterfront and eclectic stores, galleries, and cafes, within walking distance of the ferry and float planes to Vancouver (1 1/2 hour boat ride or 10 minute flight), or to the nearby marinas, stores, restaurants, parks etc.

Beach Estate park starts at the end of our property, and you will find a wonderful well-maintained trail leading you through a forest of big red cedar, other coniferous and decidous trees, lots of ferns, ivy, and flowers.

You will be able to enjoy Dutch hospitality in a lovely former residence of the previous mayor of Nanaimo, Frank Ney. He was a mayor loved by many who served as mayor from 1968 to 1984 and from 1987 to 1990. You can see one of Frank Ney’s palm trees (dubbed ‘Ney’ palms) from our large guest lounge or on the wraparound deck. Once on the deck, you will have a wonderful view of the ferries, sailboats, float planes, coastal mountains, and small islands.
